Master Data
Master data describes your warehouse and what you store in it: buildings, bins, products, units, companies you work with, carriers and the rules PrismaWMS follows. Documents (orders, receipts, counts) only use these records — so they must exist first.

Common to every Master Data screen
Every Master Data screen works the same way, so once you know one you know them all:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| New … | Opens an empty form to create one record |
| Import | Creates many records from a CSV file (download the template first) |
| Export | Downloads the list as a CSV file |
| Search box | Finds records by code or name as you type |
| Filters | Narrows the list (status, type …) |
| View / Edit / ⋯ on a row | Look at, change, or do more with one record (duplicate, deactivate, archive …) |
Codes are forever
Codes (warehouse, bin, SKU, partner) are used on labels, documents and in other systems. Choose them carefully — short, upper-case, no spaces — because a code cannot be changed once it is in use.
